CHICCO DEL CROCE

My name is  Chicco Del Croce, and I live in Sardinia since many years and reside in Santa Teresa Gallura even though my origins are in Umbria. My real passion has allways been for sports “possibly extreme sports”.

Since 10 years I’m a pro Kitesurfer and certified instructor and among the some of the main international kitesurf exponents. I also am  FINS certified swimmer assistant. Since the early years of my carrier I dedicated my experience to the research and development of kite boards working with various brands and since a few years I also take care of R&D for kites, formation of instructors, and personal trainer for kitesurf athletes. Thanks to the experience accumulated over the years I am one of the few that can instruct athletes of all levels and age by also using the aid of simulators to maximise the learning curve. For Example in Italy I was the first to have used water proof radios to teach kiting.

Profession

Certified instructor for 10 years and owner of the CDC KITE ACADEMY with schools in Italy-Sardegna , Porto Pollo ( Palau ) and Le Vecchie Saline (Olbia ), and in Brasil - Ceara in Paracuru (Fortaleza). Owner of the Tribe Surf shop, which sells sports equipment and clothing in a Santa Teresa Gallura in Sardinia . Professional athlete among the highest levels in the international kiteboarding  scene. Since 2006 I also become a trainer for young kiteboarding promises with the objective of finding new athletes for the competition environment. Besides being the only owner of the schools in Porto Pollo and Paracuru I also have a partnership with Renzo Mancini for the school Le Vecchie Saline a Olbia; Since three years I am also the organiser of the “Sardinia Kite Experience” which takes place every year in Porto Pollo from the 25^th of April to the 1^st of May.

Competions, Demos, Event and TV shows

Since 2001 I take part in the kiting entourage and events achieving various titols at the regional and national level. In June 2008 on channel 404 of Sky I appeared in a video entirely shot in the north of sardinia called “Kite On Top” about Chicco and his experience in kiting; In October 2005 I took part in various episodes of the famous TV show “Sai Perchè” for Rete 4 with Umberto Pelizzari of which various episodes where dedicated to kiteboarding with som interviews mixed with some cool action.
From 2001 to 2005 I made appearances in various other TV shows like  Linea Blu, L’Italia dei porti and more also fore Sailing Channel, La7 and Odeon tv

Certifications

Aside to the Kitesurfing certification I also am Swimming assistant, ultra light flying certified and boat licence.
